Outfit ideas and festival fashion inspiration from years past – San Bernardino Sun

The Coachella Music and Arts Festival has become just as well known for the fashion attendees bring to the Empire Polo Field in Indio as it is for its music lineup.

Temperatures often soaring over 90 or 100 degrees haven’t stopped festival goers from bringing their look book to life.

The three-day festival brings together a multitude of outfits, planned weeks if not months in advance. And just as important as the outfit is the iconic backdrop, to make the moment social media worthy. For some, the online hype only adds to the pressure of finding the perfect outfit to share with followers.

Coachella festival fashion has come a long way in the last decade, where an era of boho-vibes and flower crowns took over Instagram. In recent years, comfort-chella has become a popular choice, reminiscent of the early years of the music festival. Back when attendees would rock a band tee with jean shorts to stay cool as they listened to their favorite musicians.

While there can often feel pressure to run to the mall or nearby boutique to piece together the perfect ensemble for the three day music festival, fashion has taught us that everything comes back in style, meaning your perfect 2026 Coachella outfit might already be in your closet.

Here are some of our favorite Coachella festival fashions from years past to help you find some inspiration for this year.
