Sydney Sweeney Channels ’90s Versace at GQ MOTY Party

Sydney Sweeney attended the 2025 GQ Men of the Year party at Chateau Marmont last night, where the dress code was unapologetically ’90s — and honestly, this is one brief she was always going to deliver on.

If you’re going to tap into an era anchored in supermodel attitude, bombshell curves, and big-night glamour, Gianni Versace is the obvious place to go. And to her credit, Sydney didn’t just skim the archives — she chose a look that genuinely reflects both the mood of the decade and her own red-carpet instincts. The velvet gown, originally worn by Eva Herzigová on the Fall 1995 runway, lands right in Sydney’s wheelhouse: body-con, slinky, and unmistakably sultry.

This is worlds better than her Christy press tour, which still baffles me. I’m not sure why her team kept pushing the baby-doll corsets and fussy pink accents, but this is the Sydney who makes sense.

That said, I do have notes. The hair feels like an ode to Courtney Love, and while I personally don’t love the choker, it does keep her on-theme for the night. If you’re going to go ’90s, you might as well lean into the accessories that defined the decade.

Overall, this is Sydney operating in her natural zone.
