Paraguay will participate for the first time in Costa Rica Fashion Week 2026 Forever Green (CRFW). This marks a significant milestone for the country’s fashion industry. The event, to be held from 25 to 28 March, stands as one of the most important platforms for sustainable fashion in Latin America. It brings together designers who focus on environmental responsibility, cultural identity and innovation.
The Paraguayan presence reflects a growing effort to position national design on the international stage. Also, it is backed by institutional support and driven by a strong creative vision. This debut highlights how local craftsmanship and contemporary fashion can merge to create globally relevant proposals. For instance, every year the Asuncion Fashion Week takes place, a space for creativity and style for Paraguayan fashion designers.
The participation at Costa Rica Fashion Week 2026
Paraguay’s participation in the Costa Rica Fashion Week 2026 is supported by the Paraguayan Institute of Handicrafts (IPA) and the Paraguayan Embassy in Costa Rica. Both institutions aim to promote local talent abroad while strengthening cultural ties through fashion as a universal language.
Costa Rica Fashion Week’s “Forever Green” concept aligns closely with Paraguay’s approach. Sustainability, ethical production and cultural preservation are central to the collections presented, making this debut a natural fit within the event’s broader vision.
Paraguay will be represented by designers Antonella Scavone, Maura Martí and Guadalupe Quiñones. Each of them brings a unique perspective while sharing a common focus on integrating traditional craftsmanship into modern fashion. Their collections incorporate materials such as leather, traditional textiles and filigree. These elements are transformed into contemporary pieces that highlight the work of Paraguayan artisans. The process not only preserves ancestral knowledge but also gives it new life through design. This fusion between heritage and innovation positions Paraguayan fashion as both authentic and competitive in international markets.
Cultural and commercial exchange
Beyond visibility, participation in Costa Rica Fashion Week 2026 opens doors for cultural and commercial exchange. The event allows Paraguayan designers to connect with international audiences, buyers and industry professionals.
Such exposure can contribute to the growth of the sector by creating opportunities for collaboration, export and long-term positioning. It also reinforces the idea of fashion as a bridge between cultures.
Costa Rica Fashion Week 2026 agenda
The Paraguayan delegation will take part in several key activities throughout the Costa Rica Fashion Week 2026. From 26 to 28 March, they will be present at the Fashion Market, held at Antigua Aduana between 13:00 and 21:00.
On 25 March, the delegation will participate in the Fashion Talk at the Centro Cultural de España in Barrio Escalante. The highlight of Paraguay’s participation will take place on 28 March at 19:00, when the Paraguayan runway show is presented at the same venue.
A step forward for Paraguayan fashion
Paraguay’s debut at Costa Rica Fashion Week 2026 represents more than participation in an international event. It signals the consolidation of a creative sector that combines identity, sustainability and innovation. By showcasing its craftsmanship and contemporary vision, Paraguay positions itself as an emerging voice in Latin American fashion. This first appearance may well open the door for future international opportunities, strengthening the country’s presence in the global fashion industry.
