Greece is a “steadfast NATO ally,” offering “premier naval facilities hosting US troops to the energy and mobility hub of Alexandroupoli and meetings in Athens,” the US ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, said Monday.
In a post on X, Whitaker thanked “Greece for supporting President Trump’s leadership in making NATO stronger and ensuring we preserve peace through strength across the Alliance.”

Whitaker arrived in Athens on last Wednesday for meetings highlighting Greece’s growing strategic value to American forces amid the ongoing conflict in Iran and the Middle East.
