Treefort Music Fest offers more than concerts with its unique “forts,” including storytelling, family fun, and film experiences.
BOISE, Idaho — Treefort Music Fest is known for its music, but the festival experience goes far beyond the stage thanks to its immersive “forts.”
Among the most popular are Storyfort, Kidfort, and Filmfort—each offering something unique for festivalgoers of all ages and interests.
Storyfort celebrates the art of storytelling, bringing together writers, journalists, and creatives for conversations, readings, and live podcast recordings. Under the direction of Sam Berman, the fort continues to highlight diverse voices and thought-provoking discussions.
Kidfort is designed with families in mind. Led by Emily Williams, this space offers interactive activities, music, crafts, and performances tailored to younger audiences—making Treefort a festival the whole family can enjoy.
Filmfort, directed by Thomas Phillipson, showcases independent films from around the world. From documentaries to experimental shorts, Filmfort creates a space for filmmakers and audiences to connect through storytelling on screen.
Together, these forts expand Treefort beyond music into a full cultural experience, inviting attendees to explore creativity in all its forms.
