Miles “Deuce” McBride emerged as a New York Knicks fan favorite.
The New York Knicks continued their winning ways on Tuesday night with a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Heading into the game, the Knicks veteran guard Miles McBride generated some buzz as he was seen going through a warmup routine.
McBride had no intentions of playing in the 121-116 Knicks victory over the Pelicans, but his activity before the action suggested that a return could be coming soon.

Been a while since he’s done that. McBride isn’t back tonight but looks like his return from core muscle surgery could be very, very soon.
After the game, Knicks head coach Mike Brown revealed that McBride has taken the next step in his injury recovery. According to SNY’s Ian Begley, McBride has progressed to scrimmaging.
The Return Of Miles McBride Remains Unknown

McBride’s official return date will likely depend on how his body reacts in the scrimmaging, now that he has taken a major next step in his recovery.
The last time the Knicks saw McBride in action was during a January 27 matchup against the Sacramento Kings.
At the time, McBride checked in for 29 minutes. He shot 4-11 from the field, scoring nine points. He also produced two rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
McBride officially underwent sports hernia surgery on February 6. Initial reports suggested that the Knicks were hoping for a return to action before the conclusion of the 2025-2026 regular season. So far, the team hasn’t confirmed a date.
“I try not to hear [the updates] though, because does that mean he’ll be back in two weeks, three weeks, a week, 10 days? I don’t know,” Brown said last week, when asked about McBride.

Miles McBride has been a key contributor for the Knicks since his third season in the NBA. Since the 2024-2025 NBA season, McBride has averaged over 20 minutes of playing time.
Before going down, McBride saw the court for 28.0 minutes per game. He started in 14 of the 35 games he played. The veteran guard was having a career year in scoring, producing 12.9 points per game. He shot the ball at a 42.0% clip from three, going 43.4% from the field, while taking 10.3 shots per game.
Despite missing their key reserve, the Knicks have fared well in McBride’s absence, especially lately. After Tuesday’s win, the Knicks have collected seven in a row. They are 48-25 on the year, and just 5.0 games behind the first-seeded Detroit Pistons.
