As the Chicago Bulls prepared for their Wednesday night matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers, their two-way guard Mac McClung hit a massive milestone in the NBA G League.
The high-flying guard racked up 59 points for the Windy City Bulls on Tuesday, March 24. He made it a double-double outing by adding 10 assists, and also came down with five rebounds.
With nearly 60 points, McClung made NBA G League history. He is now the league’s all-time scoring leader, with points produced across the Tip-Off Tournament, regular season, and the NBA G League Playoffs.
The league made an announcement for him on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old guard entered the pros in 2021.
Before he was a draft prospect, McClung had stints at Georgetown and Texas Tech in the NCAA. Although he was available to get drafted in 2021, McClung was not selected. He started in the NBA G League with the Los Angeles Lakers‘ affiliate.
The first team to give McClung an NBA contract was the Bulls. He was signed to multiple 10-day deals. The run did not result in a long-term extension. Therefore, McClung went back to the Lakers’ club, where he eventually landed a two-way contract.
During the 2022 offseason, McClung had a brief stint with the Golden State Warriors. He did not make the roster for the preseason after playing for their Summer League squad.
McClung joined the Philadelphia 76ers’ NBA G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. Eventually, he signed a two-way contract with the Sixers. He made history for the team by winning the NBA Dunk Contest. It was his first of three.

In addition to having individual success with the Delaware Blue Coats, McClung helped the team win its first NBA G League Finals.
Since the Sixers run, McClung spent time with the Orlando Magic and the Indiana Pacers. Back in November, McClung made his way back to Chicago to join the Bulls’ G League team. He signed a two-way contract with the team on February 5.
McClung is still fighting to make an impact at the NBA level, beyond his Slam Dunk Contest three-peat.
But his G League resume can’t be overlooked. The veteran guard is a one-time champion, one-time G League MVP, and 2-time All-NBA G League First Team. In 2022, McClung was also named the NBA G League Rookie of the Year.
