One of MSI’s top 4K gaming monitors has now its lowest price ever in the Amazon Big Spring Sales, and it’s well worth checking out. This MSI MPG monitor is now down $195 on its list price and has been reduced from $999.99 to $804.99, which is a great price considering what it brings to the table. It’s QD-OLED with exceptional color, contrast, and high peak brightness, has an impressive 240Hz refresh rate with FreeSync Premium Pro, for enhanced HDR gaming performance, and comes loaded with anti-burn-in features, too. This is the type of monitor that’s going to pair very well with a high-end 4K-ready gaming PC, especially if you enjoy gaming at ultra-settings with ray tracing/ path tracing enabled at high framerates. For pretty much $800, it’s a cracking deal well worth the cash in our opinion.

Key features of this MSI MPG 32-inch gaming monitor

QD-OLED display

This is a QD-OLED monitor, so it basically combines Quantum Dot and OLED technology, which amplifies color and brightness, while preserving deep blacks. It has a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, which is a very good sign that it delivers on all of these fronts, but for specifics, it has 99% DCI-P3 color, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and 1000 nits peak brightness. What does that mean? Well, it’s going to give you lifelike picture quality, accurate color for editing, and it’s going to produce very bright highlights in smaller areas of the screen.

240Hz, 0.03ms, and FreeSync Premium Pro

This is basically the ultimate combination for HDR, high refresh rate gaming with very low motion blur and ghosting, and ideal for high-end 4k-ready gaming PCs. The big thing here is FreeSync Premium Pro, which eliminates screen tearing, reduces stutter, has low framerate compensation, and improves HDR performance dramatically. For OLED monitors, this is an essential feature, as switching on HDR can cause lag, which FreeSync Premium Pro solves for, allowing you to enjoy the monitor’s stunning picture quality to its maximum potential.

4K resolution and 32 inches

Personally, this size-to-resolution ratio makes the most sense if you’re getting a 4K monitor, as if you’re after a 27-inch monitor, QHD tends to be the better choice from a price-to-performance perspective for many. At 32 inches, you’re getting something that will be far superior when it comes to picture clarity than a QHD monitor at the same size, and, in most cases, 4K gaming tends to be slower-paced, non-competitive, and more immersive, so having a larger screen complements this type of gaming very well.

Anti-burn-in features

MSI is one of the top dogs when it comes to anti-burn-in solutions. Notable features here include an impressive graphene sheet designed to whisk away excess heat from the monitor itself, and advanced algorithms that can detect static images and other potential burn-in threats and adjust brightness on the fly to prevent damage.

Things to consider

4K, 240Hz, QD-OLED monitors are actually quite common nowadays, and the differences between brands are subtle but worth exploring. In short, LG UltraGear does some bangers, which are dual resolution and super sleek, ASUS ROG has some super-premium options which boast its signature cyberpunk aesthetic and very impressive performance, and Samsung Odyssey monitors look ultra premium and are well-suited to more minimalist, almost professional, setups. Check out some of our top gaming monitor deals below, as many of these displays are currently discounted in the Big Spring Sales.
