Greece vs. Scotland prediction, lineups, odds, TV and bet builder tips for World Cup qualifier

A fourth clash of the two sides this year is the most important as Scotland go to Greece in their bid to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1998.

Scotland won the reverse qualifying fixture last month 3-1, which followed a Nations League double header in March. Back then, the Tartan Army won in Athens before a rampant Greek side ran riot at Hampden to gain promotion to League A and relegate the Scots to League B.

Despite impressing in the Nations League, Greece have been extremely underwhelming in World Cup qualifying campaign and Scotland know that back-to-back victories to finish their campaign will ensure they will be in the draw North America next summer.

The Greek assignment for Steve Clarke’s side will be followed by a showdown with Denmark in Glasgow on Tuesday night.

Can Greece rediscover some form at the wrong time for Scotland or will Steve Clarke’s men win again in Athens? The Sporting News brings you this betting preview complete with the latest tips and odds.

Greece vs. Scotland preview: Who will win?

Greece have been playing on the front foot with an easy on the eye style of football that has brought improved results, including a defeat of England at Wembley Stadium last year.

However, their focus will now be on building for UEFA EURO 2028 after a disappointing qualifying campaign and that inertia could help Scotland grind themselves to a crucial three points.

Greece vs. Scotland Score Prediction

Greece have an abundance of attacking talent coming through but there is very little for them to play for and, up against a stubborn Scotland side, they may find things tough to be fluent.

Scotland will head to Athens with all of the motivation in the world to simply shut down a Greek side that can be blunted and so siding with the Scottish seems a good bet.

Prediction: Greece 0-1 Scotland (9/1 with Bet365)
