The moment didn’t happen on an NBA stat sheet — but it still revolved around Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
Caitlin Clark, one of the brightest young stars in the WNBA, stepped into a different role Wednesday night, working as a credentialed photographer during the Lakers’ 137-130 win over the Indiana Pacers. Her courtside experience quickly turned into a viral moment after she shared photos she captured of James in action.
Clark posted a series of images on social media with the caption, “The KING 👑 … Shot by ME,” a nod to James’ global stature and her perspective behind the camera. The post generated more than 2 million views within hours, gaining traction across both NBA and WNBA audiences.

WNBA Star Takes Courtside Role at NBA Game
Clark, a guard for the Indiana Fever, was stationed along the baseline throughout the NBA matchup, wearing a photographer’s vest and capturing live action during the game.
According to reports from ESPN and Associated Press, Clark was credentialed by the Pacers and had a designated courtside setup, including a folding chair marked with her personal logo.
She hinted at the moment earlier in the day, writing, “Got some good stuff coming,” before later sharing the images that quickly spread online.
The crossover between the WNBA and NBA spotlight highlighted Clark’s growing influence beyond her own league.
LeBron Amplifies Viral Moment
James later shared Clark’s photos on his Instagram story, further amplifying the reach of the post and connecting two of basketball’s most recognizable names across leagues.
On the court, James finished with 23 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, narrowly missing a triple-double as Los Angeles capped a 5-1 road trip.
Luka Doncic Reacts to Clark’s Courtside Appearance

Meanwhile, Luka Doncic, who led all scorers with 43 points in the win, acknowledged Clark’s presence after the game.
“Oh yeah, I did see she was taking pictures,” Doncic said, initially joking about the situation as “Caitlin Clark the photographer.”
Asked about his familiarity with Clark, Doncic added that he has followed her career from afar.
“Not really much [of one],” he said of their relationship. “I’m a big fan, for sure. You know, I watch a lot of games. Definitely, her hooping is great to watch. So for sure gotta go to one game to see her.”
The exchange underscored the crossover appeal between the NBA and WNBA, with one of the league’s top stars acknowledging Clark’s growing presence in the sport.
The Lakers improved to 47-26 with the win, strengthening their hold on the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference as the regular season winds down.
Photography Adds to Clark’s Growing Profile
While the NBA setting was new, Clark’s interest in photography isn’t.
During the 2025 WNBA season, she spent extended time sidelined with a groin injury and used that stretch to take photos of her teammates. Wednesday marked her most visible opportunity yet to bring that interest into an NBA environment.
Clark’s influence continues to expand as she bridges audiences across both leagues, combining on-court performance with off-court visibility.
She also joins a small group of professional athletes who have explored photography, including Baseball Hall of Famers Ken Griffey Jr. and Randy Johnson.
A Viral NBA Moment Beyond the Box Score
The Lakers’ win added another step to their strong finish to the regular season, driven by the play of James and Doncic.
But Clark’s courtside role offered a different kind of highlight — one that connected the NBA and WNBA in a way that extended beyond competition.
It wasn’t about a stat line.
It was about perspective — one star capturing another, and the moment resonating far beyond the arena.
