Bandcamp may be best known as a collection of artist-run stores selling music and merch, but as part of its curation work the company also has one foot in online radio.
Bandcamp Radio already hosts a weekly ‘Bandcamp Selects’ show as well as metal and hip-hop focused shows. Now it has added three more to the mix.
You won’t need us to explain the editorial focus of the new ‘Electronic Radio’, ‘Indie Radio’ and ‘Gaming Radio’ shows, each of which will release new episodes weekly for on-demand listening.
The shows are interview-led, with two of them hosted by Bandcamp staff. Its Daily senior editor Mariana Timony hosts the Indie Radio show while its editor Zoe Camp helms the Gaming Radio one. Radio DJ Emily Dust hosts the Electronic Radio show, meanwhile.
Bandcamp said that the shows, like its other editorial output, are “designed to celebrate the creativity and diversity” of its artist community.
