Warframe: Follie Build and Review

The Shadowgrapher update in Warframe has been very interesting. There are a lot of little changes, a new game mode, and a new endgame challenge for veterans to take on. But the main dish that was served was, of course, the new paintress-themed frame called Follie. She is a bit of everything. Not a “jack of all trades” but definitely a frame that is very funny to use, even on Steel Path. But before we delve into whether or not you should go get her, let’s go over our recommended build for her.

Recommended Build for Follie

Our recommended build will be below, and you will need only 2 forma to achieve it:

Follie is a crowd control and defense-themed frame, so setting her up for durability, amongst other things, is a necessity. Focusing on strength, range, and efficiency was a hard balance to get right. But if you can spam her first ability before using her second or third abilities, then Arcane Concentration is a must to get a nice balance of everything. Rejuvenation mixed with the usage of Vazarin’s focus school is a great way to keep your allies alive, while Arcane Grace makes sure she doesn’t die with her third ability active.

For her Archon Shards, I went for a mix of Duration, Casting Speed, and Armor. They are, of course, for flavor, and you can swap them out for whichever you prefer.

Follie Warframe Review

It’s hard to say where I stand on Follie as a warframe. Her first and third abilities give good sustainability to you and your team, but the second ability is pretty clunky, albeit very useful. In this week’s Steel Path Descendia, I ran into a Leech Eximus Infested that somehow just would not die despite my team’s best efforts. A fellow Follie and I used a mix of Thermian RPGs, Death Orbs, and the little Zariman turrets to finally kill it so we could move on. This means she can be practically invincible, keep allies alive, and deal great amounts of damage to enemies. But her 4th ability is odd. I found it initially interesting, but having to shoot the balloons to deal the damage is a bit clunky.

Suffice it to say, Follie feels really good to use, but takes some getting used to. She is worth casually trying to grind for her, but she does not necessarily feel like a “must have” from my experience.
