The Memphis Grizzlies made a roster move on Saturday, March 28, following their 119-109 loss against the Houston Rockets.
Their new addition will come from the New York Knicks‘ G League team in Westchester.
via Michael Scotto, HoopsHype: The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a 10-day deal with Adama Bal, agent Yann Balikouzou of LIFT Sports Management told @hoopshype. The 6-foot-7 French forward has spent this season with the Westchester Knicks. Prior, he was a two-time All-WCC First Team selection at Santa Clara.
As reported above, Bal will land a 10-day deal with the Grizzlies. The developmental prospect will get an opportunity to showcase his skillset on the main stage in the NBA with a Western Conference team that has been undermanned and struggling this year.
The Grizzlies enter the weekend as the 12th seed in the Western Conference. They hold a record of 24-49. Memphis is currently in the midst of a five-game losing streak. They have just one win over their last 10 games.
The only teams struggling more than the Grizzlies in the West currently are the Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz, and the Sacramento Kings.
Adama Bal’s Journey To The NBA

The Memphis Grizzlies are going to sign Adama Bal, a New York Knicks prospect, to a 10-day contract, according to a report.
The French guard entered the NCAA in 2021. He started his college career at Arizona, where he spent two seasons.
While playing in the Pac-12, Bal appeared in 49 games (all off the bench). He saw the court for an average of 6.5 minutes per game throughout his first two seasons.
With a lack of playing time, Bal averaged just 2.0 points.
For the final two seasons of his NCAA run, Bal played for Santa Clara in the WCC. He turned into a full-time starter, seeing the court for 30.7 minutes per game.
With more playing time, Bal posted averages of 13.7 points (41.8%), 2.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
Although Bal was draft-eligible in 2025, he wasn’t selected in the two rounds. After going undrafted, Bal planned for a career overseas. He inked a contract with a French team, but didn’t join them.
Instead, Bal joined the Knicks’ G League team.
During the Tip-Off Tournament run, Bal appeared in 11 games. He averaged 8.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
Since the start of the G League regular season, Bal has averaged 15.4 minutes off the bench in 18 games. He produced 6.9 points off 40.0% shooting and has come down with 1.9 rebounds per game.
