Rhode Island Gaming Revenue Hits $74.6M — Feb 2026

Rhode Island’s gaming ecosystem generated $74.6 million in total gross gaming revenue (GGR) in February 2026, with video lottery terminals (VLTs) continuing to dominate the state’s revenue mix.

While sports betting often draws attention for its volatility, the broader gaming market tells a more stable story — one defined by legacy products, consistent lottery demand, and a steadily expanding digital segment.

Revenue Breakdown — February 2026

Segment GGR ($)
Total Gaming Revenue 74,638,232
Video Lottery (VLT / NTI) 37,717,050
Traditional Lottery 21,845,163
Table Games 9,232,106
iGaming 5,843,913

VLTs Remain the Core Revenue Engine

More than half of Rhode Island’s gaming revenue in February came from VLTs, which generated $37.7 million.

This is not a new development — VLTs have long been the foundation of the state’s gaming model. Their strength lies in consistency. Unlike table games or sports betting, VLT performance is less exposed to short-term volatility and more dependent on steady player engagement.

The scale is also notable. VLTs alone produced more revenue than the lottery and table games combined, reinforcing their position as the state’s most reliable revenue stream.

Lottery Performance Driven by Instant Tickets

The traditional lottery contributed $21.8 million, making it the second-largest segment.

Within that total, two products stand out:

  • Instant tickets: $10.56M
  • Keno: $6.50M

Instant tickets continue to lead, accounting for nearly half of all lottery revenue. Their appeal is straightforward — low barrier to entry, immediate outcomes, and wide retail availability.

Keno, meanwhile, maintains a strong presence, particularly in local retail environments where habitual play drives consistent turnover.

Together, these products highlight a key characteristic of Rhode Island’s lottery ecosystem: it is habit-driven rather than event-driven, producing reliable monthly returns without major swings.
