After watching FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, I feel inspired to cut the fluff out of my wardrobe and find effortless basics like Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s. 

The show, which airs its season finale tonight, is about the romance between JFK Jr. and the former Calvin Klein executive, and showcases Bessette Kennedy’s elegant and timeless ‘90s style. She often sported not-so-basic basics like Levi’s jeans, black camisoles, sleek white button-down shirts, loafers, black slip dresses, and more. If Bessette Kennedy was seen wearing denim, it was often her Levi’s jeans — and I’m shopping this high-waisted pair to copy her style. She was photographed wearing different styles and washes of the legacy denim brand (which celebs like Kate Winslet and Brooke Shields are also wearing these days). To create a minimalist look like Bessette Kennedy’s, I plan to wear this pair with a casual black tank for an everyday warm-weather look, and with a long black coat and loafers for between-season dressing.
