Greece Raises Alarm As Middle East Tensions Escalate

Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis expressed Greece’s deep concern over the rapidly escalating situation in the Middle East. He warned that the ongoing tensions, both military and political, could have serious repercussions extending beyond the region’s borders.

Gerapetritis emphasized that without clear paths to de-escalation, the crisis threatens regional and international stability. He called for intensified diplomatic efforts to contain the situation and prevent a wider confrontation with potentially unpredictable consequences.

The Greek Foreign Minister noted that Greece is closely monitoring developments in coordination with its European Union partners. He highlighted the importance of collective action to reduce tensions and support peaceful solutions that safeguard the region’s security and stability.

Gerapetritis urged all parties to exercise restraint and prioritise dialogue. He stressed that urgent international action is required to prevent further escalation, particularly given the sensitivity of the regional landscape and the interconnectedness of international interests.
