There are seasons when Gucci leans into spectacle, and times when it turns down the volume and lets line, hardware and proportion do the talking. The new Giglio and Borsetto bags sit firmly in the latter camp.

Giglio – named after the lily that has long symbolised Florence, Gucci’s founding city – softens the idea of a tote. First seen on the cruise 2026 runway, it’s essentially a slouch with just enough discipline: a gently structured, roomy shape that can be worn long on the shoulder or folded and tucked under the arm as an oversized clutch.

The attitude is unfussy, but the details aren’t. Gucci’s Double G hardware anchors the front, and inside there’s a detachable pouch that will stop your cards and keys from vanishing into the depths.

Materials let Giglio take on different characters. In glossy black or dark brown leather it reads as a city accessory; in GG monogram suede (whether medium brown, chocolate or deep blue) it gives off a more bohemian note.

Monogram canvas and denim versions – in classic beige, dark brown, black and white or blue and white – skew lighter, and have an almost Riviera air about them. A smaller size shrinks the proportions just enough for evenings or days when you’re sizing down but don’t want to lose the distinctive look.
