However, it appears increasingly likely that Porzingis could continue his career in Golden State.
Kristaps Porzingis expected to re-sign with Warriors in free agency
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Porzingis is expected to re-sign with the Warriors over the offseason. Stein cited Porzingis’ affinity for Warriors vice president of player health, Rick Celebrini, as a major reason why.
From Stein:
“Newly acquired Kristaps Porziņģis’ profuse praise for vice president of player health Rick Celebrini — ‘Rick is the GOAT, man,’ Porziņģis said this week — has only increased expectations that Golden State will ultimately re-sign the free agent-to-be acquired from Atlanta on Deadline Day in a trade headlined by Jonathan Kuminga.”
Since he was acquired prior to the trade deadline, Porzingis has appeared in 11 games for Golden State and he’s averaged 17.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per performance.
Porzingis seems to be getting increasingly comfortable in Golden State’s system, as he’s scored 22-plus points in three of his last four games. He recently described his fit with the franchise as “seamless” and expressed contentment.

“I just came in, and we have a bunch of older guys, we also have some young guys that I was able to connect right away with,” Porziņģis said postgame. “It’s a fun team. Yeah, it’s been seamless, honestly. So I’m happy I’m here.”
Porzingis has bounced around a bit as of late, as the Warriors are his sixth NBA franchise, and his fifth since 2022. Now though, it sounds like he could be staying put for a while.
