AMES — Milan Momcilovic has declared for the 2026 NBA Draft after three seasons with the Iowa State men’s basketball team, according to multiple reports following the end of the Cyclones’ NCAA Tournament run to the Sweet 16.
The decision was first reported by 247Sports, which cited comments Momcilovic made to Cyclone Alert indicating his intent to enter the draft process.
“I probably, definitely (will) test the draft,” Momcilovic said during the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, noting he believed he had “shot the ball very well” during the season.
Momcilovic completed this season as one of the most efficient perimeter shooters in college basketball. The 6-foot-8 junior averaged 16.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 37 appearances while playing 30.5 minutes per contest. He shot 48.7% from 3-point range, which ranked as the best percentage in the country, while also converting 54.5% of his two-point attempts and 87.8% of his free throws.
His shooting performance made him one of the most productive offensive players in the Big 12 Conference during the season. Momcilovic earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2026, adding to earlier recognition that included a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2024.
Momcilovic etched his name into the record book by breaking Iowa State’s single-season 3-point record, surpassing the previous mark held by former Cyclone Dedric Willoughby.
The Pewaukee, Wis., native has been a key part of head coach T.J. Otzelberger’s program since arriving in Ames. Momcilovic started throughout his career with the Cyclones and developed into one of the nation’s top long-range shooters before announcing his plans to enter the professional draft process.
Before his college career, Momcilovic was a decorated high school player at Pewaukee High School, where he was named Wisconsin’s Mr. Basketball in 2023.
