News Release

FISHERS — A Canada-based gaming and entertainment company known for its high-tech, interactive game rooms is set to open its first Indiana location next month in Fishers.

The Fishers location will employ about 25 people and is expected to open sometime next month.

Activate Games will occupy a 12,000-square-foot space at 8600 E. 96th St., the former Party City location that closed earlier this year following the retailer’s bankruptcy.

Winnipeg-based Activate describes itself as the world’s first “active gaming” company, blending physical activity with a variety of technology. Each facility features digitally responsive rooms where players compete or collaborate through real-time challenges.

Activate currently operates 38 U.S. locations, with 12 more planned – including Fishers. The nearest sites are in Louisville, Cincinnati and Chicago. Internationally, the company has opened or announced locations in 11 countries, including Austria, Germany, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

The company has ambitious plans to reach 200 locations over the next decade. Last year, Activate secured $37 million in financing from RBC Royal Bank and Export Development Canada to fuel its U.S. expansion.

A recently opened location near Miami features 14 themed game rooms, such as “Mega Laser,” “Control,” and “Mega Grid.”

In April, the Financial Times ranked Activate No. 1 in the leisure and entertainment category and No. 12 overall on its 2025 list of The Americas’ Fastest Growing Companies.
