Greek adoptees from across the USA and around the globe will head to the land of their birth, October 11-17, 2026, for the Fifth Annual Greek Adoptee Reunion.
The event is hosted by the Eftychia Project, a nonprofit organization that helps, free of charge, Greek adoptees searching for their roots and Greek families searching for their children lost to adoption.
To date, the Eftychia Project, which celebrated 6 years of service in 2025, has facilitated the reconnections of 44 Greek adoptees and biological families. All Greek adoptees across the globe and their spouses, partners, families and travel buddies are invited to attend.
“We’ve planned an amazing Reunion, and we are so excited to return to our homeland,” says Eftychia Project President and Greek adoptee, Linda Carol Trotter. “Registration is open, and we’ve already had a brisk response, so we expect a great turnout this year.”
Greek Adoptee Reunions
The four previous highly successful Reunions were held in Nashville, TN in 2022, Athens, Greece in 2023, Louisville, KY in 2024, and Las Vegas, NV in 2025. This Reunion will follow the same no conference, no speakers format as the previous two Reunions.
Attendees can look forward to a fabulous trip together across Northern Greece to some of Greece’s most iconic and historic sites, with plenty of time for meeting and bonding with fellow adoptees.
Adoptees to tour central and northern Greece
“Our trip will take us to Thessaloniki, Vergina, Meteora, Metsovo, Ioannina, Nafpaktos and Kalavryta,” relates Eftychia Project Vice-President, Panagiota Vrisiotis, “Our Greek Taverna Night dinner on the final night of our Reunions is always a big hit. But one of the highlights of this Reunion is an incredibly special adoptee-related surprise planned in Corinth as we head back to Athens on the last day of our trip.”
The Reunion will officially open in Athens with a special welcome activity before heading to Thessaloniki by private motor coach. The group will spend two nights in Thessaloniki before journeying on to Vergina, then Meteora, where they will spend one night in Kalambaka and visit some of the majestic monasteries there.
They will then leave for Ioannina, stopping for lunch and shopping in Metsovo. After a two-night stay in Ioannina, the adoptees will stop in Arta to see the iconic bridge, then on to Nafpaktos, where the Greek Taverna Night dinner will be held. On the final day of the tour, the group travels to Kalavryta to visit the WWII memorial and have lunch at a local taverna.
A stop in Corinth on their way back to Athens for that special surprise will be the finale of the trip. Attendees are encouraged to arrive some days before the Reunion or stay some days after to visit biological family, explore Athens, or to see more of Greece.
