Movie Re-Release Calendar 2025-26: Your Guide to Movies Back In Theaters

Taylor Momsen and Jim Carrey in How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey returns to theaters for its 25th anniversary starting December 12. This ‘Rotten Movie We Love’ is back on the big screen just in time for the holidays. So, grab your friends and family, and reserve your tickets now on Fandango.

For the first time ever, Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining will be shown in IMAX starting December 12. Though the Certified Fresh film deviates from Stephen King’s novel, The Shining is still considered one of the most terrifying movies — exemplified by an unforgettable turn from Jack Nicholson. Fly, do not run, to see Wicked back on the big screen November 14-20 just ahead of the story’s highly anticipated conclusion, Wicked: For Good, which releases in theaters on November 21. Tickets are available for both films on Fandango.

Wicked‘s first film installment premiered in 2024 to great box office success and general acclaim (both Certified Fresh and Verified Hot). The sequel, which covers Act II of the musical, was filmed concurrently with the first movie, and pretty much brings back the entire cast with Cynthia Erivo reprising her role as Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande once more plays Glinda Upland, the pop-u-lar young woman who was initially a rival to Elphaba before they became fast friends.
