Marriott International has announced nine new hotel signings in Greece, adding nearly 1,000 rooms and reinforcing its long-term expansion strategy in the market. The pipeline includes the debut of two brands, Residence Inn by Marriott and Le Méridien, further diversifying its portfolio in the country.

Marriott currently operates 47 properties with over 6,000 rooms across 10 brands in Greece, and the new signings are expected to strengthen its presence across island, coastal, and urban destinations.

Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International, said, “As one of the world’s most desirable leisure destinations, Greece continues to offer significant opportunities for Marriott to expand its footprint across its islands, coastal regions, and urban centres. These new signings reflect the strong confidence owners and franchisees place in Marriott and underscore the sustained demand for our diverse and inspiring portfolio of brands in the Greek market.”

Among the key developments is the 57-room Residence Inn by Marriott Athens, set to open in 2027, catering to the growing demand for extended-stay accommodation in the capital. The 229-room Le Méridien Sissi Crete, expected to debut in 2027, will bring the brand’s culture-led positioning to the island.

Expansion in Crete also includes the 314-room Milatos Marriott Resort Crete, slated for 2028, and the 40-room The Tenant, Heraklion Crete, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, expected to open in 2026. In Paros, Orosea, Paros, Autograph Collection, with 40 rooms, is also scheduled to open in 2026.

Marriott is further strengthening its luxury footprint with the signing of Hymnos, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Zakynthos. The 94-room beachfront resort is expected to open in 2026.

In the lifestyle segment, the company has already expanded its Design Hotels portfolio with the opening of Tella Thera and Stamna Sifnos in 2025, and the signing of Eréma, Milos, which is expected to open later this year.

Greece currently hosts 10 brands under Marriott Bonvoy, spanning luxury, premium, and select-service segments, reflecting the company’s broad positioning across diverse traveller segments.
