From: Pamplin College of Business Graduate Programs

Looking for applied skills that will help you in your career, but not ready for a full master’s degree? You can enroll in a single MSBA-HTM graduate-level elective to upskill now and keep your options open for later! Current Virginia Tech students (including seniors in Blacksburg) and working professionals may take individual courses for credit or stack courses toward a graduate certificate and, if desired, a future master’s degree.

Featured Spring Courses:

  • HTM 5984 — Active Intentional Leadership: An experiential course that develops practical, values-driven leadership you can apply immediately at work. Tuesdays 6-8:50 p.m. at Academic Building One (AB1) in Alexandria or online.

  • HTM 5024 — International Service Management: Focus on contemporary issues in the international environment facing multinational service firms in the hospitality industry. Fridays 1-3:50 p.m. In-person at AB1 only.
  • HTM 5564 — Information Technology & Business Analytics in Hospitality and Tourism: Use AI, analytics, and modern IT to drive strategy and performance. Wednesdays 6-8:50 p.m. at AB1 or online.

Flexible format: Most courses meet one evening per week (6-8:50 p.m.) at Virginia Tech’s Academic Building One in Alexandria, with a selection offered fully online.

Who should consider a single course now?

  • Virginia Tech seniors (Blacksburg): Take a graduate-level elective to build resume-ready skills now; qualified students can also explore the accelerated (4+1) pathway! Get a head start on your MSBA-HTM by taking up to 12 credits that apply to both degrees at the undergraduate tuition rate. This is a cost-effective way to begin your MSBA-HTM while finishing your bachelor’s degree.
  • Working professionals: Even if you aren’t ready for a degree, gain tools you can use right away and keep the option to stack into a certificate or the MSBA-HTM later.
