FORT WORTH, Texas — One of the hottest songs in country music is putting a North Texas landmark in the national spotlight.
Ella Langley’s hit song “Choosin’ Texas” is quickly gaining traction, and when it came time to film the music video, she chose Fort Worth.
The video was shot at the historic Stagecoach Ballroom, a venue that has been part of the community since the mid-1970s.
“It made every memory of mine come to life about how I feel about this place,” said Julia Paur, daughter of Jean Czajkowski-Desai who co-owns the ballroom with her husband.
“It was so much so fast… from that Friday, then we started filming in two weeks,” Paur said.
The family has spent decades preserving the ballroom’s authentic Texas feel, something they say made it the perfect backdrop for the video.
“She was very pleasant when we did meet her,” Jean Paur said. “They were wonderful people, down to earth, as sweet as they could be.”
Over the course of three days, the venue was transformed into a full production set.
Julia Paur said the shoot brought in several well-known names in country music and entertainment, including Miranda Lambert, Luke Grimes, Wade Bowen and Casey Donahew, along with professional bull riders.
“We kind of suspected that Miranda Lambert would be here… Luke Grimes, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew… I can’t even list all of the bull riders,” she said.
Since its release Wednesday, the video has already surpassed 3.8 million views on YouTube, drawing national attention to the Fort Worth venue.
For the Paur family, seeing their ballroom featured on such a large stage was emotional.
“I just started crying… I mean it’s just wonderful,” Czajkowski-Desai said.
What started as a quick phone call has now turned into a moment of pride, not just for the family, but for Fort Worth.
Because for them, it’s more than just a music video. It’s a piece of Texas now shared with the world.
