Bluey, an Australian children’s cartoon following an energetic dog, and Apple Music Classical have partnered to release the show’s first official curated playlist. The playlist was created exclusively for Apple Music Classical by the show’s lead composer Joff Bush.
The show’s use of classical music has already reached millions of children worldwide through its expressive approach to musical storytelling. The playlist features classical works that appear in, inspire, or are referenced throughout Bluey, alongside a selection of Joff Bush’s personal favorites
It’s designed for shared listening between children and adults.
Launching alongside the playlist is Bluey‘s fourth album, Bluey: Up Here, featuring 17 new orchestral recordings by Joff Bush and the Bluey Music team, recorded with Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Camerata conducted by Joseph Twist.
Bluey composer Joff Bush has also created a digital booklet exclusively for Apple Music Classical to help parents understand the album’s background and context and to support shared musical discovery with their children.
“Orchestral music can have an incredible ability to connect with people emotionally – something we’ve wanted to be part of the Bluey experience from the beginning,” Joff Bush said. “Drawing on pieces that inspired the music of Bluey, this playlist and digital booklet for Apple Music Classical are about sharing the joy of orchestral music in a way that feels playful, open and approachable for parents and children alike.”
“By partnering with Bluey, Apple Music Classical continues to provide unrivalled access to classical music,” said Anjali Malhotra, Apple Music Classical’s Global Director. “This playlist and exclusive album guide developed with Bluey makes it easier for families to explore orchestral music together supported by expertly curated programming, rich editorial storytelling and the highest audio quality.”
