A Mythic Setting
In a stunning marriage of art and theater, the performance will take place in the museum’s Medieval and Renaissance Gallery. Surrounded by historic sculptural depictions of Greek mythological figures, the company will perform a selection of songs from the show. The choice of venue is particularly poignant given the musical’s plot, which intertwines the tragic romances of Orpheus and Eurydice alongside King Hades and Persephone.
Part of the V&A Performance Festival 2026
The event serves as a highlight of the V&A’s Performance Festival 2026. This year’s festival is centered on the theme of ‘echoes’, exploring how myths, music, and storytelling reverberate through time.
“At its heart, Hadestown is a story that has echoed through centuries,” the show’s producers remarked. “This performance is a wonderful opportunity to share that journey with audiences in a completely unique way.”
The West End Company
The live showcase will feature members of the acclaimed West End cast, currently led by Rachel Adedeji (Persephone), Bethany Antonia (Eurydice), Marley Fenton (Orpheus), Alastair Parker (Hades), and Clive Rowe (Hermes). Backed by the show’s signature blend of folk, jazz, and blues, the performance promises to bring the “reverberation” of the Lyric Theatre to the halls of the V&A.
How to Attend
Entrance to the gallery for this performance is free of charge. The V&A Performance Festival runs from 24 April to 3 May 2026, offering a week of talks, workshops, and tours.
