GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Family, fun and music come together this weekend at the Heartwood Soundstage.
Heartwood Music Fest X kicks off Saturday with more than 20 different bands taking to the stage.
Organizers say this two-day event features something for everyone.
Performances will take place on two stages, one indoors and outdoors, featuring everything from high-energy beats to tranquil tunes.
In celebration of this event, doubling as the Heartwood’s 10th birthday, organizers say this year’s fest focuses on the theme of age and integrational collaboration.
“The subtitle of the festival is One for the Ages,” Chelsea Carnes, director of Heartwood Soundstage, said. “And it’s going to be very intergenerational with different age groups. A lot of the bands are bringing in an elder to perform or covering the song of an elder who meant something to them, or bringing in a kid to do a little solo during their set.”
Performances kick off this evening at 4 and resume Sunday at the same time.
Tune in to Weekend Wake Up Sunday morning at 7 for a special performance from one of the bands headlining the big event.
