Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most celebrated open-world games of all time, with fans still playing it 8 years after it released, and enjoying all the new DLC content that continues to be added to it. While Rockstar fans may primarily have their eyes on the looming release of Grand Theft Auto VI, which looks to be the biggest open-world game ever, gamers shouldn’t start neglecting their Western masterpiece.
Exclusively until April 6, Red Dead Redemption fans can download what may be some of the game’s last DLC for absolutely free. Specifically, this DLC will appeal to avid fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 who’ve long ago completed all the single-player content, and have since turned their focus to Red Dead Online.
New Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC Is Coming This Month
As detailed on Rockstar’s website, from now until May 4, 2026, each week will have its own limited-time challenge, with exclusive cosmetic rewards going to those who complete them. The current installment of the Trader Bonuses Event, which ends on April 6, simply requires players to complete a Trader Sale. The reward for doing so is the Red Dillehay Hat.
From April 7 to April 13, reaching Wave 5 in “Call to Arms” will earn players the Blue Prieto Poncho. From April 14 – April 20, participating in two “Free Roam Events” will allow them to get a discount of 50% off any Weapon in the game.
From April 21 to April 27, crafting an item at Gus’ shop will result in players netting a Reward for the North Tumbleweed Treasure map. And, from April 28 to May 4, logging in two times during the week will net them Gray Shaffer Chaps.
While all this is going on, the Featured Series will also be taking place. Avid Red Dead Redemption fans will be able to earn 5x rewards for fishing challenges, and 3x RDO$, Gold, and XP on “Call to Arms” missions. Like with the Trader Bonuses Event, the full schedule for the Featured Series can be found on Rockstar’s website.
From March 31 to April 6, the Hard Core Takeover Series is taking place. This will be followed by the New Hanover Series, which will run from April 7 to April 13. Next will be the Bow and Arrow Series, from April 14 to April 20. The Hardcore Public Enemy Series will then run from April 21 to April 27. And, finally, the Hardcore Saint Denis will run from April 28 to May 4.
Rockstar fans have been waiting for over a decade for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the current wait for its November 19 release date can still feel like an eternity. Hopefully, the continuous updates to Red Dead Redemption 2 will be able to help tide them over.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
