Y U QT drop long-awaited single ‘Call My Name’ on Ninja Tune’s Technicolour

Y U QT have released their long-awaited single, ‘Call My Name’, marking their debut on Ninja Tune’s Technicolour imprint – a high-energy club production featuring a signature vocal sample, one of their most ID’d tracks to date.

“We’re genuinely proud of this one – it feels like a step forward for us and a perfect representation of where we’re at musically right now,” they said on the release. “Sonically it sits somewhere between speed garage and techno. The vocal from Jem Cooke brings this euphoric but slightly vulnerable energy that really lifts the track.”

Sam Binga and Addison Groove announce collaborative album ‘BAGS INC.’

Having debuted some of the material during their b2b during FABRICLIVE on Friday (April 3), Sam Binga and Addison Groove have confirmed news of their first-ever collaborative album ‘BAGS INC.’ which will land via Binga’s Pineapple Records on July 10.

While little is known about the collaborative project so far, Sam Binga said: The raw building blocks for the ‘BAGS INC’. album came from three days at Devon Analogue Studio – a place absolutely brimming with every iconic piece of dance music hardware, and then some. We dived head first into exploring these boxes, building riffs and grooves, trying to keep that stripped-back essence, but with enough space to add our own flavour.”

I’ve always loved the idea of ‘box jams’ – taking hardware, linking it up and creating tracks on those pieces of kit, and we decided that should be the approach to our live show as well – rather than try to recreate the album, instead we want to recreate the spirit, aesthetic and workflow that inspired it,” he continues.

‘BAGS INC.’ will land via Pineapple Records on July 10. Check out a preview from the record via Instagram below.
