Alongside her family, the Princess of Wales attended the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. For the occasion, she chose to wear a cream skirt, a matching headpiece and tonal brown accessories courtesy of one of her favourite It-bag brands.
The skirt suit is a rewear from London-based brand Self-Portrait, first worn by the Princess in 2022. The belted blazer jacket, complete with floral crochet embroideries, is in keeping with the Princess’ regular preference for strong-shouldered tailoring worn alongside floaty mid-length skirts. Self-Portrait has become one of her most-worn brands, with its contemporary take on occasionwear – and especially its jacket and skirt ensembles, clearly speaking to her preference.
Catherine addressed the formality of the occasion for the British royal family by adding in a floral hat by Juliette Botterill. The made-to-order Oak Leaf Teardrop Hat is described as being ‘crafted from sculpted felt and elegantly adorned with hand-cut oak leaves for a timeless, nature-inspired finish. The soft oyster tone adds understated sophistication, making it a beautiful choice for the season.’
As ever, Catherine made her other accessories count, too. The Princess of Wales is often loyal to a set of add-ons in the form of top-handle bags and high-pitched pointed pumps.
Her choice of bag saw her look once again to DeMellier. The handbag brand is fast becoming her go-to as she regularly chooses its designs for a whole range of appearances. Today, she chose to carry the £330 Nano Montreal in the Deep Toffee shade.
The neat bag offers modern hardware as its point of design detail with gold metalwork decorating its front. At £330, the bag sits in the more affordable It-bag price bracket, especially when you consider, as the Princess shows, how it can be worn myriad ways. It also comes with a cross-body strap for greater versatility, too.
Other accessories worn by the Princess deserve closer inspection. Sure, there were her regularly worn brown Ralph Lauren pumps, but around her neck was an occasion-appropriate crucifix. The necklace was worn plain to see, honouring the deep religious significance Easter Sunday holds for Christians around the world. The style has been in Catherine’s wardrobe for more than 20 years, before she married into the royal family, and she has chosen to wear it on a number of significant occasions – including for the installation of the new Archbishop of Canterbury in March 2026 and during the period of mourning after the passing of Queen Elizabeth in 2022. She wore the necklace with the late Queen’s Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings.
The appearance of the Prince and Princess of Wales and all three of their children marks the first time the Wales family have joined the rest of the royals at Windsor since 2023. As ever, the family were able to coordinate effectively with Princes William, George and Louis choosing navy suits, while Princess Charlotte nodded to mum in a beige coat.
While the service marks an important date in the Christian calendar, it will also hold deeper sentiment for the royals as the late Queen and Prince Philip are among those buried within the chapel.
