A new report about Masters of the Universe is giving fans an early hint at what to expect after the credits roll. While the film is still months away from release, details about its post-credits scene and a possible character debut have already started circulating.
Masters of the Universe to have just one post-credits scene with key debut
The Masters of the Universe post-credits scene will reportedly consist of just one stinger. According to scooper Daniel Richtman, that scene is expected to introduce Orko, a familiar name for longtime fans of the franchise.
There had already been speculation about Orko’s involvement. Earlier rumors claimed he might appear briefly in the main story, but fans began to question that when trailers and promotional material showed no sign of him. This latest update points to a different approach, aka saving his debut for the very end.
Orko, the floating Trollan wizard, wasn’t part of the original toy line and was created for the 1980s animated series to bring in some comic relief. Since then, he has appeared in multiple animated versions of Masters of the Universe, though never in live-action. If the report holds true, this would be his first appearance in that format.
Directed by Travis Knight, Masters of the Universe follows Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, as he returns to Eternia after years away. There, he finds his home under the control of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto, and must step into his role as He-Man to restore balance. The cast also includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.
The movie has had a long road to the screen. A previous version in development at Netflix was shelved before Amazon MGM Studios picked it up, with Travis Knight coming on board as director. Masters of the Universe is going to be released in theaters on June 5.
