Juve to rival Barcelona for Silva

Juventus have reportedly made an early transfer move for Bernardo Silva, who will leave Manchester City in the summer after a stellar spell at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Lijnders, the club’s assistant manager, suggested after the 4-0 Emirates FA Cup win over Liverpool that the ”unique” Bernardo would leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.

”You never replace a player with the same kind of player, because they don’t exist,” said Lijnders. “Bernardo Silva is unique.

”But every good story comes to an end. I hope he enjoys the last months, it is only six weeks, and he has a good farewell, and he deserves all that attention as well.”

Bernardo has been linked with a move to Barcelona, but Juventus have contacted the 31-year-old midfielder’s agent, Jorge Mendes, according to La Gazzette dello Sport.
The Serie A club are reportedly prepared to offer a three-year deal with an option for a fourth season.

Atleti’s tough stance on Alvarez

Atletico Madrid will have their determination to hold on to Julian Alvarez tested this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona, still working within tight financial constraints, are reportedly considering offering a player-plus-cash deal for the 26-year-old forward, who won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup treble with Manchester City earlier in his career.

However, according to Sport, Atleti will not let Alvarez leave on the cheap this summer.

And it would reportedly take a bid in excess of €100 million to persuade them to part with the Argentina international.

Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen is said to be an alternative target for Barcelona.

Alvarez, for his part, said he was “happy” where he was when asked about his future after his team knocked Tottenham Hotspur out of the Champions League last month.

”I have nothing to say,” he said. “These are things that get talked about, there’s a lot of talk on social media too, everyone posts their opinion, it all blows up. I never said anything, I’m fine here, very happy, competing in all the competitions.”

Chelsea ‘in control’ over Barco deal

Chelsea have been given the ”green light” to sign Valentin Barco from Strasbourg, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Argentina international, who had a spell at Brighton & Hove Albion before joining the French club last year, is reportedly keen to move to Stamford Bridge.

And ”no issues” are foreseen given that the two clubs are owned by BlueCo, a consortium led by Todd Boehly, with the 21-year-old left-back seemingly destined to join Chelsea.

”Chelsea have total control on the Barco situation,” said Romano on his YouTube channel.

”So, for this summer, what I can tell you is that Valentin Barco, together with his agents, already gave his green light on leaving eventually Strasbourg in the summer transfer window and joining Chelsea.

”Now, obviously, club to club is the same ownership, so it’s not going to be any issue.”
