Following a pair of powerhouse solo albums from Brittany Howard (as well as her foray into hardcore punk), 2010s blues-rock staples Alabama Shakes regrouped last year after a decade-long hiatus to release a loose single and announce an extensive series of reunion dates surrounding the 10-year anniversary of their last album, 2015’s Sound & Color. The band took to Instagram in January of 2025 to announce that they were working on “some exciting stuff” alongside a photo taken in the studio, and more of that stuff will evidently land this Friday: This morning they took to IG again to reveal that a new track (or album?) titled “American Dream” will be revealed on April 10.
