Everyone has that one tee shirt in their wardrobe that is their best of the lot. Mine is my Flore Flore car tee. Though, when pressed I would tell you that it’s tough to choose between any of my Flore Flore basics, because I love them all so much. And according to the Internet and all the fashion girls who live there, I am correct.

In a sea full of cropped t-shirts and boxy tees, the Car tee is an artful rendition of the baby silhouette. Slightly shrunken and meant to be worn snug to the body, it’s elongating in the right places (the torso) but the sleeves hit at a flattering and sophisticated part of the arm. So, no, you won’t look like you’re wearing a top you stole from a sibling, or simply insisting on wearing clothes you owned when you were a pre-teen. You may get a hint of midriff when you move, but certainly nothing inappropriate. If it was a thing to have custom tailored tees, I would say the Car tee could pass as that.

Cut aside, when you get this Flore Flore classic on your body, it’s the details that really stand out. The round binding at the collar, the cut-off seam in the middle of the back, the perfect mid-weight of the cotton. It’s soft in the hand, but not tissuey on the body. Crucial! You can wear a bra and it won’t show through. You can skip the bra and not be accused of being indecent. Beyond that, they’re just well made. No warping of shape in the washing machine. No floppy collars with wear. And, yes, with care it stays that perfect crisp white, even a year and change into ownership. All of which to say, it looks expensive, far more than the $115 price tag. And with regular wear, as far I’m concerned that’s $115 that basically pays for itself. I’m adding a seasonal color to my cart as soon as I hit publish… my only question is whether to get the red, hot pink, or pickle colorway.
