The Fashion Design & Merchandising of Montclair State University presents its annual juried fashion show on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Memorial Auditorium on the Montclair State University campus. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6:00 pm.
“A Moment in Time” brings to the runway the idea that time is always moving and changing around us. Through a wide range of styles and silhouettes, the show becomes a space of distortion and discovery, encouraging audiences to pause and appreciate the creativity unfolding before them.
This year’s show will feature a new segment in collaboration with Rocky’s Closet. Rocky’s Closet is an MSU initiative that offers free professional attire for students. A dedicated portion of the show will spotlight styled looks curated entirely from Rocky’s Closet merchandise, promoting the accessibility and style of the initiative.
Three industry professionals will serve as this year’s judges panel:
James Volpe – Principal of White Sneaker Consulting
Jenni Lee – Fashion Stylist & Brand Consultant
Utkarsh Gupta – Assistant Product Developer & Designer at Golden Touch (Private Label & Walmart Specialist)
Along with the awards given to the designers by the judges, academic scholarships will also be awarded to students in the College of the Arts. These awards and scholarships celebrate the hard-work and talent of students on and off the runway.
The annual fashion show is produced and promoted by ARTX400: Fashion Show Promotion, taught by Professor Seth Howard. The show features the works from students in ARTX 120: Intro to Apparel Construction, ARTX 226: Intermediate Apparel Construction, ARTX 322: Flat Pattern, and ARTX 422: Draping, as well as independent designers.
Pre-sale tickets are $12. Tickets will be $15 at the door.
