The Maryland Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2026-27 concert season, titled “Sound & Story: Iconic Music, Brought to Life,” according to a community announcement. The lineup explores the connection between music and storytelling and invites both longtime patrons and newcomers to engage with live symphonic music.
“This season reflects the heart of what we do,” Executive Director Kim Bowen said in the announcement. “It’s about creating shared experiences, telling meaningful stories through music, and bringing our community together in a way that feels welcoming and inspiring.”

Shakespeare in Symphony: Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. Music from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Henry V, and Romeo and Juliet.

Timeless Strings: Feb. 13, 2027 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 14, 2027 at 3 p.m. Featuring works by Montgomery, Mozart, Bach, Walker and Tchaikovsky.

Beethoven: Mastery in Motion: March 13, 2027 at 7:30 p.m. and March 14, 2027 at 3 p.m. Featuring the Coriolan Overture, Symphony No. 1 and Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor.”

The Art of Sound: May 8, 2027 at 7:30 p.m. and May 9, 2027 at 3 p.m. Featuring Pictures at an Exhibition and works by Pierné, Chausson and Ravel.
