NEW YORK—Betsy Vasquez, a technical fashion designer, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts on April 1 at The David H. Koch Theater.
“The history was beautiful,” Ms. Vasquez said. She immediately added that she will be calling her brother to recommend that he bring his family to see Shen Yun.
“You need to come. You need to come with your wife and my nieces and my nephews. Everything is just wonderful,” she said.
“I think I’m going to go wherever they’re going to perform [whether] it’s in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, I’m gonna go see it again, because I loved it, and I will see it every year now.”
“It touches your heart. … I was tearing up. I just highly recommend it. You must come. It’s a beautiful experience. I love it,” Ms. Vasquez said.
Shen Yun’s artists are trained in classical Chinese dance, one of the most comprehensive dance systems in the world.
“It’s unbelievable. They are so together. It’s just like seeing one person, and there’s like 20 people on the stage, and you could just focus on one, and they’re all [in sync]. It’s just beautiful,” Ms. Vasquez said.
“The costumes are just a phenomenon—well executed, the colors, the flow, the fitting—beautiful. There’s nothing imperfect about it. It’s just stunning,” Ms. Vasquez said.
“I love costumes. I love colors. I’m going to get an outfit like that with the long sleeves and just go to a party,” she shared.
