Engaging in Playful Research: Connections, Collaborations and Considerations

Wednesday (April 8), noon to 1 p.m.

Attend on Zoom.

Courtney Shimek, the 2025 CAHS Outstanding Research Award winner, will present her research on the confluence between literacy and play in elementary school classrooms, literacy teacher education and children’s literature. Presented by the College of Applied Human Sciences.

Eberly Graduate Research Mixer

Wednesday (April 8), 5-7 p.m.

Hear short talks from graduate students representing disciplines across the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences while connecting with colleagues and celebrating the breadth of research in our community. Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited. Presented by the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences. 

2026-DLGE Research and Creative Scholarship Day

Thursday (April 9), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Agricultural Sciences Building, Room 4004

Featuring poster and oral presentations, the annual Student Research and Creative Scholarship Day highlights undergraduate and graduate research across agriculture, natural resources and community development. Presented by the Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Melissa Luna recently ended a two-year rotation serving as a program director/officer in the directorate for STEM Education at the U.S. National Science Foundation.

2026 Spring Research Symposium

This event reimagines the University’s Annual Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium, recognizing the individuals who support research and creative work. It will feature joint undergraduate and graduate presentations, evaluated posters and a graduate student poster session. Presented by the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Creative Arts and Media.

Hyperscaling: Policy and Protest in the AI Supply Chain

CRC Community Engaged Research Celebration

Join us for a poster session and dialogue with grads, undergrads and faculty about the exciting initiatives underway, and the creative methodologies and ethical approaches scholars are taking to advance constructive change in West Virginia and beyond. School of Sport Sciences Brown Bag Seminar

Hear from WVU scholars who have worked with nonprofit news publisher The Conversation U.S. to translate their research for the public, connecting academic expertise with current events and everyday lives.
