Shaquille O’Neal Drops Major Update on Future of ‘Inside the NBA’

NBA fans were dismayed when they learned that popular TNT show “Inside the NBA” was no longer going to air on the network.

But those fans were seemingly given a lifeline when it was reported that ESPN had reached an agreement to air the popular NBA post-game show, which is hosted by NBA legends Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, NBA champion Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson and used to air every Tuesday and Thursday.

However, in the first year of that agreement, fans have been woefully disappointed as the show has only aired 19 times this season with one more regular-season program planned before the playoffs.

But some good news for the future of the show seems to be on the horizon as O’Neal recently revealed fans will be seeing more of “Inside the NBA” once the postseason starts.

“Charles [Barkley] was complaining about us not being on, but I’d rather not be in during the regular season,” O’Neal told the Daily Mail. “Now is when the people need to hear us, and once playoffs start, you will definitely see us and we will definitely dominate the airwaves.”

O’Neal admitted that fans have let ESPN know they’ve been frustrated with the lack of the show on the network’s airwaves.

Their venting seems to have paid off though, as O’Neal disclosed the plan is for “Inside the NBA” to get more airtime next season.

“[The] feedback is they don’t get to see us a lot,” O’Neal added. “So I’m sure [it was] because it was new to everybody. I’m sure ESPN is going to make some adjustments, and, you know, we’ll definitely be on more next year. But through playoffs, I think the playoffs start in a couple weeks, you will definitely see us.”
