Jwei Joins Edward Gaming As Their New Support

Chinese jungler Sun “Jwei” Jun-Wei has officially joined Edward Gaming (EDG) for the upcoming LPL 2026 Split 2. The player joins EDG after securing a 5-6th place finish with Invictus Gaming (IG) in the LPL 2026 Split 1.

Edward Gaming replaces Parukia with Jwei following a terrible Split 1 run

Jwei first signed with Invictus Gaming to fill the void left by Tian “Meiko” Ye, who opted for a break at the start of the 2026 season. The Chinese support moved to IG following a full 2024 run with FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), a season where the roster failed to click and never truly threatened the top of the table.

Edward Gaming have struggled to find its form for several splits now. Since placing third at the 2023 LPL Regional Finals, which was also the last time we saw the Hall of Legends member Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao on the LPL professional stage, the 2021 World champions have been unable to fight their way back to the top of the league.

EDG has spent years stuck in the middle of the pack, unable to break back into the LPL elite. However, the 2026 season has been a new low for the organization. After narrowly finishing third in Group Perseverance, they were immediately eliminated from the playoff phase by OMG.

These disappointing results signal a desperate need for change as EDG looks to escape this slump. Despite the poor performance, the rest of the roster has remained the same for now.

Jwei’s competitive history

The Chinese support kicked off his career in the LDL with Bilibili Gaming Junior. He spent three years with the academy roster and even picked up a championship title during his journey with them.

In 2023, he moved up to the LPL with Rare Atom, though the team consistently finished near the bottom of the table. After two years with RA, he joined FunPlus Phoenix and the best result he managed to secure with them was an 8th place. Now in 2026, he is coming off a 5th-6th place run with IG and hopes to find even greater success with EDG.
