Christopher John Rogers has partnered with Old Navy to bring his colorful, joyful designs to the masses with an exclusive collection launching next week. The release will feature a campaign starring the model and entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons and her daughters Ming and Aoki. A continuation of Old Navy’s celebration of iconic American designers, the news follows Old Navy’s partnership with Anna Sui this past fall.
Official imagery of the collection has not yet been released, but Rogers tells Bazaar, “Our approach was to reinterpret tried-and-true American classics through a distinctly declarative lens—imbuing them with a more assertive, expressive identity through off-kilter polka dots, stripes, and florals, and a highly intentional use of color. Grounded in familiar fabrications like viscose jersey, cotton poplin, and denim, the pieces are designed to feel both elevated and accessible—a wardrobe rooted in versatility, but with a clear and confident point of view.”
Rogers collaborated with Zac Posen, Old Navy’s chief creative officer and longtime industry veteran. “This collection brings Christopher John Rogers’s signature vibrancy, sophistication, and modern cool to the Old Navy customer, delivering standout style and incredible value across an expansive range of pieces,” says Posen. “This is Old Navy’s second major designer collaboration championing exceptional American design talent, bringing accessible style to everyone.”
Since launching his namesake line in 2018, Rogers has bewitched the fashion industry and a roster of dedicated clients with his joyful designs. (A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, he first worked under Diane von Furstenberg, herself a maven of color and print.) Rogers has managed to remain independent since founding his label. He has eschewed the official New York fashion calendar, showing his vibrant collections—full of with sophisticated manipulation of shape, volume, and hue—as he pleases.
His decision to collaborate with Old Navy seems to match that ethos. And it’s not the first time he’s done something like this; the beloved designer partnered with Target in 2021. Rogers’s garments are meticulously constructed from superior fabrics—and priced as such. This new collection will give his dedicated fans access to his pieces at a more accessible price—and introduce his work to a much wider audience. Now, we eagerly wait to see what Rogers and Posen have come up with.
The Old Navy x Christopher John Rogers collaboration will launch in stores and online April 15.
