Baylor’s Yessoufou, Carr among top NBA prospects


Two Bears are turning heads ahead of the NBA Draft as their performances place them among the top prospects in the class.

WACO, Texas — Two Baylor players could hear their names called at the 2026 NBA Draft.

Tounde Yessoufou and Cameron Carr are both ranked among the top 50 draft-eligible prospects by ESPN and CBS Sports

Yessoufou declared for the draft on Friday after a standout freshman season.

“I want to thank God and give Him all the glory for blessing me each and every day,” Yessoufou wrote. “I also want to thank coach Drew and the entire coaching staff for believing in me, pushing me and helping shape me into the player and man I am today. To my family, thank you for standing by me through every high and low.”

The freshman started all 34 games, averaging 17.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game while earning All-Big 12 honorable mention.

Carr transferred to Baylor after two seasons at Tennessee, where he saw limited playing time under coach Rick Barnes. After suffering a thumb injury in November 2024, he entered the transfer portal Dec. 23 seeking a fresh start. He joined Baylor in January.

He started all 34 games this past season, averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. He played 18 games total during his time at Tennessee.
