There’s a huge resurgence of minimalist ’90s fashion right now (thanks in part to FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette), and I’m on a mission to find affordable spring pieces that match that vibe.
Luckily, Amazon’s fashion department is bursting with finds that channel style icons from that era: Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Princess Diana, and Jennifer Aniston. Since the weather is getting warmer, I specifically looked for clothes and accessories that are timeless, but also breathable and relaxed — and they had to fit my under-$50 budget. After my long search, I picked out 12 Amazon staples, including polished tops, linen pants, comfy (but supportive) flats, and more. Even better, most of my top picks are on sale, and prices start at just $7.
Flats are a wardrobe staple: They can easily make a basic outfit (like jeans and a T-shirt) look more put together. Plus, you can team them with dressy outfits for a comfortable shoe option on more formal occasions. That’s why I’m eyeing these Mary Jane flats, which come with a wide, adjustable leather band across the foot for a custom fit, as well as a memory foam footbed that keeps feet pain-free all day. And thanks to the unique woven fabric, they add a little extra texture to looks.
I stay cool during warm months with clothes that give a little bit of airflow, which is why I sometimes opt for midi and maxi skirts over pants. This midi is an ideal pick because of the elegant A-line silhouette and satin fabric (which has ’90s energy). To really hone in on the Bessette Kennedy vibes, I’d wear it with black sandals and a white tank or button-down.
When I want to wear pants on warm spring days, I only reach for pairs made of lightweight natural fibers. These linen pants are super breathable and the wide-leg silhouette evokes that relaxed ’90s look I’m going for. I also love the pretty pleats. The style is available in 14 neutral colors like navy and khaki, and ranges from sizes XS to 3XL. Even better, the pants come in four inseam lengths (as a short gal, I’m eyeing the 29-inch inseam).
Want even more ’90s-inspired spring fashion picks? Keep scrolling for block heels, oversized button-downs, and more for under $50.
