Bulgaria – Egnatia Aviation, based in Kavala, Greece, has announced a pilot training information event in Sofia, Bulgaria, scheduled for 25 April 2026 at the Hilton Hotel Sofia — targeting prospective aspiring pilots in the Bulgarian and wider Southeastern European market.
- The event will run across two sessions (17:00–19:00 and 19:00–21:00), where attendees can meet the Egnatia Aviation team, learn about the academy’s pilot training program’s, understand the selection process, and receive insights into the pathway from training to airline operations.
- The Sofia event reflects Egnatia Aviation’s strategy of international cadet recruitment beyond its Greek base. The academy trains cadets for airlines across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, and reported an 18% increase in cadets and a 21% rise in delivered training hours in 2025.
- Egnatia Aviation closed 2025 with significant strategic achievements. The academy renewed long-standing training contracts with AEGEAN Airlines and Iraqi Airways, added six new Elixir Aircraft to its fleet with nine on order, and advanced infrastructure development including a new training and management building and new terminal.
- In February 2026, Egnatia was selected by Boeing to contribute to the development of its Area 100 Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) training resources — joining a select group of flight training organisations collaborating on competency-based training aligned with global airline operational standards.
- In March 2026, Egnatia commenced training of 16 cadets for AEGEAN Airlines, continuing the academy’s established role as one of the preferred training providers for the Greek flag carrier.
