After five years, Guilty Gear Strive is looking and feeling a lot different with the massive Version 2.00 update that dropped this week.
Now that players have had their hands on the widely changed version of the game, we’re starting to see some visual patch guides come out that are just as big as the update itself.
Thus far, there’s at least two mad men out there who’ve put in the hours digging through the pages and pages of changes and recording each of them to break down what’s new.
And it’s wild that they both are longer than many feature-length films hitting theaters.
Evo Awards Best Content Creator winner Rooflemonger‘s guide clocks in at almost 1 hour and 50 minutes while Mister Acolyte actually got his up first running for 1 hour and 46 minutes.
Each of them spend nearly 20 minutes going over just the universal changes made to the game because there’s that many to get through.
That includes replacing Wild Assault, nerfing purple Roman Cancels, invincible moves, Positive Bonus and other nerfs in general.
And this is before you get into all of the character adjustments that take up a bulk of the runtime.
Happy Chaos, for example, basically got reworked into an almost different character entirely with his gun nerfs and mechanic changes though they did also give him a new move to help him with standard zoning.
We’d be here all day trying to go over everything they do, so we’ll let the guys do their thing.
