Turkish actress Serenay Sarikaya was among the first to wear the design, a black, corseted dress with leather detailing by Istanbul-based fashion designer Dilara Findikoglu.

Sarikaya stepped out in the gown at a private event, where the form-fitting silhouette drew significant attention on social media.

The dress resurfaced weeks later on a different continent. American actress Barbie Ferreira wore the same Findikoglu piece to the Los Angeles premiere of her film “Faces of Death,” bringing the Turkish designer’s work to a Hollywood red carpet.

Same design, different stages

The two appearances placed the same garment in starkly different contexts. Sarikaya, known for her bold style choices, had paired the dress with a commanding presence that circulated widely across Turkish social media.

Ferreira’s red-carpet outing introduced the design to an international audience, drawing fresh attention to Findikoglu’s label.

The side-by-side images of both actresses in the Findikoglu dress spread quickly online.

Users on social media platforms split into two camps over which actress carried the look more effectively, with both appearances drawing considerable commentary.

The moment added to the growing international profile of Dilara Findikoglu, a Turkish designer whose work has increasingly appeared on global stages and red carpets in recent years.
