Why isn’t Liverpool vs PSG on TNT Sports tonight? Champions League TV schedule explained

Liverpool host Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie tonight.

PSG head to Anfield boasting a commanding 2-0 lead from last week’s one-sided opening clash at the Parc des Princes, where Desire Doue’s deflected effort gave them an early advantage and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added a superb second goal after the break.

Liverpool will regard it as a minor miracle that they remain alive in the tie and aren’t facing a much larger deficit, with PSG having missed several other golden chances to put it beyond them as Giorgi Mamardashvili – deputising for the injured Alisson Becker – also made a string of excellent saves for the visitors.

The Reds managed just 26 per cent possession in Paris and only three total shots all night, none of which were on target for a pitiful XG of 0.18. PSG had 18 efforts across the 90 minutes, by contrast.

The Anfield atmosphere will hold no fear for holders PSG, who won 1-0 on Merseyside in the second leg of their last-16 tie last season before holding their nerve to triumph 4-1 on penalties en route to finally winning Europe’s elite club competition for the very first time in their history.

Luis Enrique’s side will also be well-rested after their title showdown with Lens in Ligue 1 was postponed, though Liverpool did at least give themselves a confidence boost with a 2-0 home win over Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday evening that helped to ease some of the intense and mounting pressure on under-fire boss Arne Slot.

Why isn’t Liverpool vs PSG on TNT Sports tonight?

Liverpool vs PSG is not being screened on TNT Sports on Tuesday, despite the rest of this week’s Champions League, Europa League and Conference League quarter-final matches all being shown on the network.

That is because Amazon Prime Video currently get the first pick of one match to show live on Tuesday nights up until the Champions League semi-finals, per the current shared broadcasting rights deal for the competition in the UK.

This week they have chosen Liverpool vs PSG over the second leg of Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona, which is live on TNT Sports 1.

Last week, Amazon Prime Video opted for Arsenal’s first-leg win over Sporting in Lisbon instead of Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich. Both of those second legs on Wednesday night are live on TNT Sports.

Amazon Prime Video’s coverage of Liverpool vs PSG begins at 6:30pm BST.

Amazon will continue to show a first-pick game live on Tuesday nights as part of the next Champions League broadcasting deal in the UK, which kicks in from 2027 with Paramount+ having in November won the rights in a massive deal said to be worth in excess of £1billion.

The BBC will also continue to show free-to-air highlights of the competition on Wednesday nights.

As of the 2027/28 season, exclusive broadcasting rights for the Europa League and Conference League in the UK will move from TNT Sports to Sky Sports.
