It’s that time again. Yesterday, at the 2026 WNBA draft, 45 college basketball players were called to begin their run in the pros, with their new franchises. Celebrating the future of their careers in the sport, the athletes walked the orange carpet, sponsored by Coach, at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City, showing out in everything from elevated athleisure to shimmery party looks, suit jackets, and luxury bags.
The UCLA Bruins set records with five first-round picks and six total selections.
UConn’s Azzi Fudd was chosen as the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings. And she sure dressed the part of the main character in a disco-ball gown styled with a black layer underneath that gave the illusion of an exposed bra.
No. 2 pick, TCU’s Olivia Miles, was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx—and looked cool in a sports-meet-business fit. And No. 3, Spanish player Awa Fam Thiam, was chosen by the Seattle Storm. She celebrated the night in a fabulous bright-red gown that looked like it was hand-wrapped around her body.
Other standout ensembles came from the likes of Flau’jae Johnson, who brought the drama in a sweeping velvet gown and faux-fur stole; Ashanti Plummer, who dressed on-theme in WNBA merch and orange accessories that matched the carpet; and Nell Angloma, who was so chic in an off-white wrap blazer, pleated trousers, pointy heels, and a perfect micro bag that deserved its own spot on the carpet.
