Baylor’s Cam Carr declares for the 2026 NBA Draft after averaging 18.9 points and setting a school sophomore scoring record with 642 points.
WACO, Texas — Cam Carr announced he is declaring for the 2026 NBA Draft following a breakout season with Baylor University, where he emerged as one of the program’s top scorers.
In a statement addressing fans on Instagram, Carr said his time in Waco “exceeded every expectation” and credited the program for his development both on and off the court.
“After long conversations with my family and a lot of prayer, I am announcing that I will be entering the 2026 NBA Draft,” Carr said. “The NBA has been the goal my entire life and I am ready for this next step.”
Carr started all 34 games in his debut season with the Bears, averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game while leading the team in scoring. His 642 total points rank as the fifth-highest single-season mark in program history and set a Baylor record for sophomore scoring.
The 6-foot guard scored in double figures in 32 games and recorded four double-doubles, highlighting his consistency throughout the season. He posted a career-high 28 points in his Baylor debut against UTRGV on Nov. 3 and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds against West Virginia on Jan. 31.
Carr also proved to be one of Baylor’s most efficient shooters. He led the team with 77 made 3-pointers and shot 80.1% from the free-throw line, going a perfect 10-for-10 at the line in a win over UCF on Feb. 28. Defensively, he anchored the Bears with a team-high 45 blocked shots.
His performance earned him All-Big 12 Third Team honors and a spot on the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. Carr was also named to the NABC All-Gulf District First Team and appeared on the midseason watch list for the Jerry West Award.
Carr capped his season with a strong showing in the College Basketball Crown, totaling 29 points and 21 rebounds across two games to earn all-tournament team recognition.
With his combination of scoring, versatility and defensive presence, Carr now turns his attention to the NBA, leaving behind one of the most productive single seasons in Baylor history.
